I am using EasyMail to manage an email list and send out announcements to the people on the list (this if for a client) to tell them that the client has a new Radio Broadcast up at Live365. I've built him a WordPress website, with a custom theme. I send out an announcement email about every two weeks to about 2000 people.
I am using your widget on the homepage of this site for people to sign up for the email list. People do not come to the website to read a newsletter; there is no "public" Newsletter page on the site.
Everything works wonderfully except I don't know how to handle the "unsubscribe".
I need to have an "unsubscribe" option in every Announcement Email that goes out and it needs to be automated. I couldn't figure out how to do this so we've just been using a manual link saying "if you want to unsubscribe email us at xxxx.com and put unsubscribe in the subject of the email" but our ISP contacted us and said we have to have an automatic unsubscribe function.
Under Settings > Text you have language about unsubscribing but I'm assuming that the unsubscribe link there goes in the acknowledgment email that people get when they sign up.
You also have: "%UNSUBSCRIBELINK%: the url that the new subscriber must click/visit to unsubscribe the newsletter" -- is that what I would use? Do I just paste "%UNSUBSCRIBELINK%" into the email announcement? Or am I supposed to paste some specific link, and if so, what link?
I apologize for being dense but I can't figure out how this is supposed to work, or even if it will work. Am I using the plugin differently than intended? Maybe it just can't do what I need?
Help greatly appreciated!
