Dit some test for the Spamm issues..

It looks very good, in version 1.8 there were many mails triggerd as spam.

With version 1.8.3 and the same mail addresses there were none so far.

Great job Alo, I sent you a beer! :)

Great! Thank you that seems to have fixed that issue. I am now getting the newsletter to my inbox intact.

I've done some tests... and I found that the source of the newsletter was not correct at 100%.
So I've fixed it and I've just released a new version (1.8.3) that maybe could be less worm-like for antivirus... :)

I too have had some different issues with delivery to inbox.

My newsletter is stripped by Avast 5 and I get this message.

Subject line: [avast! heuristic - WARNING]

body: Multiple Content-Type header - HIGH DANGER!

It would seem that Avast sees this newsletter as a threat of some sort of mass email worm.

The code you have posted seems ok. The newsletter now contains both texts (html and plain text). The user's mail client displays one of the two text (plain or html) because of its settings. You can try to change your client preferences, or view the same newsletter on different clients, to see the two versions alternately.

Strange... I updated the plugin (WP 3.0)

Sending gives me only the HTML code as text code in my mail.

Starting with:

--_boundary_
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit

Then the mail as text and then again

--_boundary_
Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit

Now the HTML version but not visible only plain codes

??

Sure, I really like the Dutch.
And let us know about your tests and what are the main reasons why newsletters are considered spam (if you can know them).
Many thanks, gunu!

I've just released the v.1.8.2: about this question now easymail sends multipart newsletters (html + plain txt) which should be less spamish.
In future I'll read more about that and I'll try to improve the efficiency against spam. Please suggest me other important rules to avoid newsletters to be considered as spam.

Alo, for your reference.

I have a large number of emails sent with your plugin. A large number were not delivered in connection with spam.

I have the same list of emails sent with PHPList and no message was considered as spam.

Do you know what the cause is and is there a way to fix this?

Is this the reason that I get complaints about the newsletter marked as spam?

Or this "automated process detected unsolicited content"

Can I make changes before the next release to avoid this?

Hi!

The plugin works perfect for testing purposes so far but triggers a few unnecessary rules which result in the newsletter being treated as spam.

rules triggered for spamassassin(http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/FrontPage):

HTML_IMAGE_ONLY_$somenumber
how to avoid: send multi-part message or no images with html(the who is reading image..)
HTML_IMAGE_RATIO_$somenumber
how to avoid: send no big images with your message.. difficult to avoid this one every time
HTML_MESSAGE
how to avoid: i think multi-part message would also cure this
HTML_MIME_NO_HTML_TAG
how to avoid: send a leading <html> tag (and </html> on the end) tried adding this but gets filtered by easymail/wordpress?
MIME_HTML_ONLY
how to avoid: send multi-part message

being able to send a multipart newsletter which has a html and a text version would be really helpful for me
