Hi all,
I found what was the problem.
It was a plugin, Events Manager version 5.1.6. After it was disabled, everything worked again!

I hope it's going to be useful to someone else :)

As Elektryk wrote, probably the problem is caused by another plugin that uses
the_content
filter in a wrong way.
You can try to disable all plugins except EasyMail and see if newsletters are still empty. If not empty, you can enable one more of your plugin till you find the one that makes the newsletter empty again.
(I hope you can understand, I'm sorry for my bad english).

I have the same problem but I don't know how to solve it.
I disabled and re-enabled the plugin many times but everytime I got a blank email. I tried also to create the newsletter disabling the editor but got the same result.
If needed I can provide a list of my others plugin.

I have the same problem and I found what cause the problem on my website. It was wrong use of filter on the_content. For example when plugin is adding filter this way: add_filter('the_content', 'some_function'); the some_function() should return the given text, not display it by echo.

Hi there,

I've just encountered the same issue, but only when a user with "Editor" permissions wants to update/modify/send a newsletter. When I login as an "Administrator" everything works fine.

The problem has jumped out after upgrading WP to 3.3.1.
I've tried to deactivate/activate all the installed plugins and there seem to be various conflicts with several plugins. If individually activated, each one of the following plugins triggers the blank page issue for users registered as "editors":

- My Link Order
- White Label CMS
- Wordpress Database Backup

Nothing happens when changing all plugins' permissions to 755.

Any help will be much appreciated.

yes, it is wp-publications. We need it to generate archive pages of pdf publications. We have to turn off the publications plugin, send the newsletter out, and then reactivate the publications plugin. Irritating, but works for now. I do not know the source of the conflict, but it is not a shared category label of newsletter. Any suggestions?

Hi again,

I finally fixed this by alternate means, goint into SuperAdmin/DomainMapping/DomainOptions and unchecking "Redirect administration pages to site's original domain".

But IMHO the real problem comes from this sack code :

if (self.responseStatus[0] == "200") {
self.onCompletion();
} else {
self.onError();
}

Since WPMU+DomainMapping returns a 302, self.onError() is triggered. This is weird, since a 302 is indeed not an error. sack should handle this a better way, following the redirect and reposting initial arguments, but it doesn't event checks server headers.

But it seems that per HTTP/1.1 specification, a "POST" request that results in a "302" redirect HTTP response will be converted into a "GET" request with no message body.

Anyway, it works now, and I don't see any better way.

Thanks !

M

Hi leucos. I'm sorry but I cannot test a multisite with domain mapping plugin...
About the ajax script, it's called in alo-easymail_functions.php, line 371:

<?php echo admin_url() ?>admin-ajax.php" );

Maybe you can check on WP doc if
admin_url()
is ok on multisite, or there is a better function to locate the script.
Anyway, to exclude other issues you can follow this checklist.

Hello,

First, congrats and thanks for this plugin. It looks awesome and has just everything I need.
I'm stumbling on a problem though, and I think it's related to the domain mapping plugin (WordPress MU Domain Mapping 0.5.3) I use.

When someone (a logged in user or a visitor) tries to subscribe to the newsletter (via /newsletter or the widget), the ajax wheel turns and never stops.
On chrome, I have an additional 'Ajax error' javascript alert popup.

When I look at what happens, I first see a POST to http://www.partance.org/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php with the following POST data :

POSTDATA=action=alo_em_user_form_check&alo_easymail_option=yes&alo_easymail_txt_success=Mise%20%C3%A0%20jour%20effectu%C3%A9e&alo_easymail_lang_code=fr&alo_em_form_lists=&rndval=1295736643602

The server replies with a 302 to http://partance.blogs.lstilde.org/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php (which is a normal behaviour with WPMU Domain Mapping).

Then, there is the second request firing to the new location but now it's a GET, and there is no GET variables passed.

May be redirects (caused by the domain mapping plugin) are handled erroneously somewhere in the code, and prevents registration from working properly ? The rest is working fine (including unsubscribing !).

What do you think ?

Thanks for reading,

M
