Hi the styling of the widget is a bit problematic, I had to add some width information to the table and input fields in the php file. Please check and think of a solution so the form fits better in the widget space.

I've added custom fields (phone, add1, add2, city, zip) for newsletter subscribers following guide from this blog... Everything 'looks' good...but it's not working. When I try to add a new subscriber, I get the 'error during send - please try again' message. I cannot figure out where/which module this is coming from... I don't know if it's a database error, email error, coding problem?

How do I fix this?

Thanks for your help!

(this is the BEST plugin!)

Hi all,

I've replaced the subscribe button with an image using CSS:

 /* formatting the submit... */
.alo_easymail_widget_form .input-submit {
background:url(images/submit-button.png) no-repeat;
width:92px;
height:26px;
border:none;
}

Which works fine, however the 'Subscribe' text is still being showed on top of the image. I don't want the subscribe text to show. As a quick fix solution, I edited the alo-easymail-widget.php to set the input value to '', this works when the form is first displayed but once the form is submitted, the text displays again.

I could dig around more in the plugin files and change the input value to empty in other places where the form is created but I'd rather not do this as I'd lose the changes when I update the plugin.

Anyone have any better solutions to remove the 'Subscribe' text in all instances of the form?

Appreciate the help.

Sid.

the alo-easymail is working perfect, also in other languages.

I use sitepress multilingual cms and this works also, when I see the English version of a page it shows the English text: "Name Email Subscribe".
When I view the page in another language it changes the text into that language Great!!

But when I subscribe in the other language (not English) I see the English text "Subscription successful" etc. Also the subscriber gets an email withe the English text.

Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks in adavantage.

Hi ALO, thanks so much for this plugin!

I have a problem setting everything up, when I click on the Settings > Newsletter, when I get to "Permissions", it breaks. It only gets here:

The lowest role can send newsletters:
Fatal error: Call to a member function has_cap() on a non-object in /home/public_html/wp-content/plugins/alo-easymail/alo-easymail_options.php on line 658

I suspect it has something to do with WP 3.1, with the MultiSite maybe.

Quick question:

In the FAQ I saw that there is supposed to be an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each message. For some reason on mine there isn't any link. Is there a way I can add an unsubscribe link to my emails?

Hi!

I am working on a two language site (Swedish & English) and I have basically got it working alright. However, there is a problem with the ALO Easymail plugin. First of all, I can't seem to use the php function for sending and had to install the WP Mail Smtp plugin to get it to send the newsletters. I'm fine with that, although it would have been great to get it to work without it.

Second, and more importantly. There is a bug with mailing lists, users and language that is confusing. I use the qTranslate plugin and Swedish is listed properly, and it works well in the site. However, when I try to create a mailing list for Swedish, the name of the list is empty in the "list name" field. However, it comes back if I try to edit the Swedish list.

Furthermore, when I try to edit the subscribers and add them to the Swedish mailing list, the list name for the Swedish mailing list is again blank and it is impossible to add users to this list.

Any ideas on what might be wrong here?

Thanks for the great work btw!

Hi,
I have a plugin called contact 7 form page and I have the alo easymail newsletter page.
I want both to be like that except that in the contact page I would very much like to add a checkbox that's normally checked "subscribe to newsletter" and while that checkbox is checked the contact page act like the newsletter page.
I've found many plugins to add the contact users to the database, but it's on it's own db and not easymail's.
Can anyone help me with this?
Regards

I have installed v1.8.7, everything is working well [as far as I can tell] except that commas are being stripped out [removed] from my newsletters when they are sent.

When I create the newsletter and save it as a template, it keeps the correct text formatting, including all punctuation - and the commas. However, when I send it, the commas are removed. All the other formatting is ok.

After a lot of testing and experimentation, I've found that the problem appears to be with the setting "Apply the 'content filters' and shortcodes to newsletter content" in the Settings, General tab under 'Filters to the newsletter text'.

If the setting is turned OFF the commas are NOT removed.

Hi,
I would like to send mail via SMTP, just wondered how you send mail?

Do you use the ()mail function, and does it automatically go via PHP normally? I have just downloaded the WP mail SMTP plug-in and wondered whether it would work for ALO Easy mail,

And also, if I need to change the ()mail function, it would be helpful to have some clues as to where to find it.
